So I have news this week. First of all, Elder Hales from my MTC district got called to be a traveling assistant in the mission. That´s so weird!!! He´s been in Brazil the exact amount of time as me and now he´s an assistant.
Other news, our two baptisms that we had planned for Saturday fell through, because both decided to be out of town. I don´t think we emphasized the importance of the baptismal date enough. We are teaching a lot of great people though, so this next month Tibery should have at least 6 baptisms, But I sadly I won´t be there to see it happen.
Last night we got our transfer calls. I was expecting Elder Sousa Silva to get transferred to another area and train, and that I would stay and become senior in the area with a Brazilian, but the Lord and my mission president had other plans.
I got transferred to Itumbiara in Goias. I´m starting my third transfer and my third area in Brazil. Maybe I´ll be one of those missionaries that never stays in one place too long. My new companion is Elder Brelaz. Here in the city of Itumbiara we have a district of four missionaries. I´m in the same zone as I was in Tibery, but now I´m a two hour bus ride away.
Last night when I got the call I had about an hour to pack everything, so that we could catch our bus to get to another Elder´s house, because his companion was finishing his mission. Luckily I was able to repack when I got to the other elder´s house.
Shock of my life. It was cold today! It wasn´t USA cold, but if I tried really hard I could see my breath. The trip this time was better than last time, because I arrived with enough time to do stuff like unpack, write this email, do some laundry.
We share a house with the other companionship in Itumbiara. It´s weird because we do have separate defined areas, we just have one giant area (that is the city) that we share.
I feel that I´m going to like it here. My companion is Brazilian, so I´m hoping my Portuguese will continue to progress.
I´m drawing a blank...........................................................
la la la la la la la la la la la
hmmmmm...............
yep
aside from all that, I don´t know what to write about.
So I think I´ll write next week and hope that my writing doesn´t run dry as quickly.
Love,
Elder David Short
